Jeannette Kaplun is a successful journalist, TV co-host, author, businesswoman and, most importantly, madre. At a personal level, she is, undoubtedly, one of the most beautiful, talented, warm and charming woman I have ever met — totally simpatiquísima!
Recently, Jeannette launched Blogs de Mamás, a community blog in Spanish, part of Todobebé, to share motherhood adventures. But before I go on to tell you more about Blogs de Mamás let me properly introduce you to this amazing Latina:
A Professional Journalist
Jeannette was born in El Paso, Texas, and was raised in Chile. Before moving back to the U.S., she was a reporter and producer for Chile’s Channel 13, after graduating at the top of her class at the prestigious Journalism School of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. In addition, from 1998 to 2002, she was the co-host and a producer for the Discovery Channel Latin America/Iberia’s technology show, “Vida en línea”. In 2002, Jeannette was named one of the most influential Hispanic journalists by the Hispanic Media 100.
Co-Founder and Chief Content Officer of Todobebé
Jeannette has capitalized on her impressive background as a journalist and her passion for the well-being and happiness of Hispanic families. In 1999, Jeannette co-founded Todobebé the first baby and parenting website in Spanish and Portuguese, after discovering the serious lack of information and resources, online, for Hispanic families. Not surprisingly, Todobebé has become an award-winning destination for Spanish-speaking parents, and a leading multi-media company dedicated to the adventures of parenting. As Chief Content Officer of Todobebé, Inc., Jeannette oversees the quality, and standards of all Todobebé parenting content.
Co-Host of Viva La Familia TV Show
In 2008, Univision, the Spanish-language television network, and Todobebé Inc. agreed to produce “¡Viva la Familia! de Todobebé” a television program for and about mothers and young families. This one-hour program, which broadcasts on Saturdays, mixes humor, entertainment, “reality” segments, interactivity, and lots of surprises to impart important information to families about babies and parenting. Jeannette is co-host to this informative and entertaining family television show in Mexico, Guatemala and the United States, and of the Todobebe radio shows and vignettes that were syndicated in 75 stations in Latin America.
Author of the Todobebé Book
In 2006, right after the birth of her second child, Jeannette realized her dream of becoming an author. Todobebé (the book) is a complete reference guide with practical tips and sound guidance on the care of 0- to 12-month-old babies. The book has become an essential companion and guide for Hispanic families!
About Blogs de Mamás:
Todobebe has recently launched Blogs de Mamás, a community blog and platform for mom bloggers to share their motherhood adventures with other moms, and to support the amazing mami bloggers in cyberspace. Blogs de Mamas also hopes to inspire other moms to start expressing themselves. The site is in Spanish and covers a range of topics such as baby names, planning a baby, recipes, and traveling with children. The stories and experiences of Latina mami bloggers will surely create a powerful platform full of advice and tips de mamás a mamás.
