The Holiday Season: Tiempo to Relax

The Holiday Season: Tiempo to Relax

Thanksgiving is over and Black Friday is here! It’s the beginning of the hectic Christmas holiday season. This is the time of the year when articles and reports on how to manage the stress of the holiday season pop up everywhere. Stress during a holiday season? I don’t think so! In my world, Thanksgiving marks the beginning of the most relaxing tiempo of the year. I love to cook, but I do not cook for Thanksgiving. I love to buy gifts for friends and relatives, but I do not have to go shopping in the wee hours of Black Friday. I like to have a beautifully decorated home, but why do I have to bring a tree into my house (where there is not a single plant) and store tons of ornaments to hang on it? Sounds like a lot of pointless work to me. The only thing I do is send artsy, fancy holiday cards (bought at post-holiday season discount) to dear friends. Am I oppositional? Maybe, but I am delighted to know that as people are looking at their never-ending holiday things-to-do lists, mine only has one item: Play with Frida.
