I’m reading The Art of Happiness, A Handbook for Living, by Dalai Lama and Howard C. Cutler. It is such a great book, I decided to recommend it to all of you. I thank Judith, my friend, for recommending it to me!
What I love about the book is how simple it is to read, and how well it presents topics that can be elusive at first. I find this book to be very practical and peaceful, especially for women who are busy all day and distracted with a million tasks.
Dalai Lama explains happiness this way:
“I believe that happiness can be achieved through training the mind.”
“When I say ‘training the mind,’ in this context I’m not referring to ‘mind’ merely as one’s cognitive ability or intellect. Rather, I’m using the term in the sense of the Tibean word sem, which has a much broader meaning, closer to the ‘psyche’ or ‘spirit’; it includes intellect and feeling, heart and mind. By bringing about a certain inner discipline, we can undergo a transformation of our attitude, our entire outlook and approach to living.”
Are you ready to train yourself to be happy?

Congratulations Angellica – I love this magazine. I just recently had my first book published on mentorship in tosay’s culture – Plural Pubs. Latina power!
