We continue to celebrate and highlight the artistic talent of Latinas!
Today’s spotlight is on Rachel Matos, an arts educator who has worked for many extraordinary arts institutions – Norton Simon, LACMA, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Montclair Art Museum, Guggenheim, Smithsonian Cooper Hewitt, BX Museum, El Museo del Barrio, The Met – under different capacities ranging from studio instructor, education programs developer, and gallery lecturer. Rachel is also an independent curator and portrait artist.
Furthermore, she is a professional actor represented by Studio Talent Group and currently has several national commercials running – Ford alongside Christian De La Fuente, Autozone, Anna’s Linens, and Ford. She can be seen in the films X’s and O’s starring Judy Marte, LA Proper, winner of the Red Star Award and I Heart Hollywood, a documentary about inspirational actresses living in LA. Specialties: 19th and 20th century art.

Your paintings are absolutely beautiful. I could not stop looking at them and just
feeling a great sense of appreciation for the Latin Culture. I was able to feel such a connection with our Peruvian brothers and sisters as if I were one of them. I probably never would have taken the time to do so. Thank you for opening my eyes through your wonderful work. God bless you and may you continue to grow in all you set your heart to do.
