The 5th Annual Women in the World Summit got off to a strong start last night, with Hillary Clinton and International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde leading a lively discussion regarding sexism, double standards, and how women need to stop selling themselves short.

Excerpts from their talk have been tweeted all over the internet, with some of the more popular quotes being:

@HillaryClinton “Too many young women are harder on themselves than circumstances warrant, they too often sell themselves short” #witw14 — Women in the World (@WomenInWorld) April 4, 2014

Christine Lagarde: Economies that open up the job market for women will significantly boost their GDP. Aging populations NEED to. #WITW14 — rachelsklar (@rachelsklar) April 4, 2014

Yes, we’ve made progress [with women's rights], but we can’t rest. – Hillary Clinton @WomenInWorld #WITW14 — Levo League (@levoleague) April 4, 2014
