NYACK, NEW YORK – ELLA Institute – Latina Leadership Network (LLN), an online community on Facebook with 2,000 professional Latinas, industry experts, social media influencers and leaders, was nominated for the 2013 Social Revolucion award.
Social Revolución is an interactive movement that recognizes Latinos utilizing social media as a platform to create and inspire change. These visionaries use hashtags, pixels, and live updates to spread ideas, foster communities, and inspire both local and worldwide audiences into action. The Social Revolución will host its second Official Event at the SXSW Interactive Festival in 2013 where the Revolucionario Award Winners will be announced.
The nomination came from Hilda Ramirez, President at Equity Preservation, Inc. and active member of LLN:
“Born the day after a Twitter party on Leadership, The ELLA – Latina Leadership Network embodies the way great ideas and driven networks grow organically, and fast. The LLN brings together 2,000 professional Latinas, industry experts, social media influencers, artists, and students who are actively engaged in supporting the careers and leadership of Latinas. In this supportive hub, smart conversations, resources, and opportunities are shared on a daily basis. Within just seven months of its launch, the platform has already generated collaborative ventures, projects, and meet ups.”
The Latina Leadership Network was created by Dr. Angelica Perez-Litwin, the founder of the ELLA Leadership Institute, to bring together a group of accomplished and career driven Latinas seeking to connect with other like-minded women. The group boasts daily conversations, resource sharing and informal peer mentoring, and has become the go-to social network for professional Latinas on Facebook. This celebratory and supportive community of women (and a few fellow Latinos) reaches Latinas on Facebook, a natural place for today’s digital Latina.
Given the remarkable growth and utility of the LLN, the ELLA Institute is set to launch another private network focusing exclusively on career and professional development. The ELLA Career Network will offer numerous resources to promote the careers and leadership of its members, including coaches and mentors, a career library, job listings, educational videos and the opportunity to create groups based on region, interest and professional sector.
ELLA Institute is a mission-driven center aimed to advance the lives, careers and leadership of women through solutions-driven and innovate programs. For more information, visit www.ELLAInstitute.com.
