FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Congruent with New Latina’s mission to educate and empower Latina women, their families and the Latino community, New Latina has launched College Bound Latinos, a new series of articles offering step-by-step guidance on achieving academic success and preparing for college admissions. The series will provide concrete information on what to do and where to go, highlighting tools and resources relevant to Latino students and their families.
This is New Latina’s recent effort to clarify and demystify the college application process, and address the low college graduation rates among Latinos. For the past year, New Latina has offered college prep support and guidance via its College Prep E-Mentoring Group on Facebook, a platform where parents and students can ask question on college preparation and college admissions.
New Latina has also recently partnered with New Futuro, a mission-based company aiming to “to create better lives for Latinos, to create a more educated workforce, and to advance our society on a global level.” The College Bound Latino series will be cross-shared on New Futuro’s website.
We’re excited to continue to provide information and resources that are relevant for the success of Latina women and the Latino community.
