Did you know that only 13 percent of the Hispanic population 25 and older have a bachelor’s degree or higher (2010 US Census). Coca-Cola and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund are teaming up to achieve their goal of improving that statistic, and having a college degree in every Latino household by 2025!
Every year Coca-Cola and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund grant $300,000 in scholarships to young Latinos across the country, through their Destapa Su Futuro scholarship fund. The scholarship is a call to action encouraging Latino scholars to pursue higher education and make a difference in their communities.
Coca-Cola and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund wants to hear from the nation’s Latino scholars and learn about how scholars’ heritage influences their career goals. From now until October 31st, Latino students can apply for a scholarship at www.hsf.net/cocacola by answering three essay questions, with answers reflecting how important education is in their lives, the impact their culture has had on their professional goals, and their participation in community service.
New Latina celebrates Latino scholars and professionals, and the impact that their culture has had on their success, everyday. Many of our celebrated Latina Spotlight guests, such as Stephanie Bravo and Dr. Marta Moreno Vega have utilized their cultural orgullo to drive their professional pursuits, leading them to become successful and respected leaders in their fields.
We are dedicated to promoting the Coca-Cola and Hispanic Scholarship Fund’s Destapa Su Futuro scholarship fund, and their mission help Latinos’ cultural pride contribute to academic and professional greatness!
