Hi Zu,

What better way to start the school year right than a new look. For school I would recommend going for a natural makeup look, while still playing up your best features.  Here are some quick tips for a 5-minute look:

Makeup

Face: Apply your favorite concealer around any dark circles or any pesky blemishes. Then follow this by applying your favorite powder. This will help reduce the appearance of shine or grease on your face.

Try: GloMinerals Powder is one of my favorite options. It offers a natural lightweight option and the mineral makeup won’t clog your pores, so it’s great to use if you have skin problems.

Lips- Go for a natural lipstick shade or a lip gloss just a little deeper than your natural lip color.

Try: Covergirl has some great natural lipstick shades.

Neutrogena’s Lip Soother is also an inexpensive option for a lip gloss.

Eyes-A light application of your favorite mascara will help brighten up your eyes, but make sure you do away with clumps.

Cheeks- Add a glow to your face by applying a subtle bronzer or blush to your cheeks and nose–where the sun would normally hit your face. I preferably like applying my blush/bronzer with a “Kabuki” brush. You can find an inexpensive brush at stores such as Walmart or Target.

Try:Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Mosaic Bronzer (you’re classmates will wonder if you just stepped out of San Tropez)

Neutrogena’s Healthy Skin Custom Glow (Blush and Bronzer in one make this option a great bang for your buck)

Fashion

My favorite part of back to school was definitely the back to school clothes shopping. Here are some options for a casual and informal, but girly look.

-Look for a top or a dress in eye-catching florals in pinks or blues. This will add the perfect girly touch to any outfit. If wearing a floral top, pair it up with your favorite jeans and some colorful ballet flats.

-Colorful plaids and Polka dots are the latest trend we’re seeing this fall. Try pairing your colorful plaid with a skirt (similar to this look)

-Chunky Sweater- Once the weather starts cooling down look for a chunky knit sweater. These look best when paired with a summery dress…think ala Taylor Swift. They’re also great to layering over tanks.

Hope this helps and hope you have a great school year!

Xx,

Carmen
